On the 9th of April 2009, Shakti Samantha, Indian producer and director, died at age 84.
Sab Kuch oh sakta he! A beautiful life, a beautiful death.

Sunday, around 11 am: we are arriving in the quarter of Santacruz. Rafeek, who is driving, asks us where Shakti Samantha’s house is; everyone knows the man here. It is a big and seemingly ramshackle white villa with a beautiful garden and a soothing frangipani tree whose scent hung heavy in the air. Shakti Samantha welcomes us in. He is tall and classy, wears a white shirt and grey suit pants. He smiles at us, ageless and of confident stature… He has a simple and natural elegance. In the sitting room, we are offered water and chaï. The style is a bit art deco with a sculpture of Ganesh, tribal art paintings, family pictures and large sofas; the fan is on, there is no air conditioning…
