The story of the Thé des Ecrivains begins with the creation of a collection of original teas, each one the embodiment of a specific literary movement. The adventure is inspired by the intimate bond that exists between the book and the act of writing; the magic sparked by the image of the pen scraping paper or that of the fingers pushing down on the keys… through touch and sound.
THÉ DES ÉCRIVAINS: THE STATIONER'S SHOP

La papeterie du Thé des Écrivains
A hand softly caressing paper … the stationer’s shop of le Thé des Ecrivains arose from that image and other similar ones. Hence Georges-Emmanuel Morali’s association with a traditional paper workshop in Northern India.
In Sanganer’s workshop, near Jaipur, the multicoloured printed or gilded notebooks are hand-made and respectful of Indian craftsmanship. The partnership is founded on fair trade, a deal which enabled this little Rajastan business to hire ten times more workers.
The coloured and conceptual notebooks, the travel books and seasonal notepads, the photo albums, visitors’ albums and other artistic novelties are made out of refined material embedded with flowers or glitter. Le Thé des Ecrivains, resourceful and quick to react, also came up with exclusive special collections for cultural partners of quality, such as the Comédie-Française and the Bibliothèque Forney.
You can find all of these products on the online shop of the website and throughout our network of 700 sale outlets in France and abroad.
The inventiveness of the stationer’s shop of le Thé des Ecrivains goes further yet. From his many travels to Japan, Thailand and South America, Georges-Emmanuel Morali brought back bamboo leaves as well as sheets made out of rice paper, silk, blackberry bush and banana.
A shimmering collection available in all forms and patterns at our shop.
